MSc Thesis

My MSc thesis at the IT University of Copenhagen, completed in June 2026 with Andreas Severin Hauch Trøstrup, explored fine-grained role-based access control in open data lakes.

The proposed design enforces column-level permissions at the object-storage layer by encrypting data, while allowing existing query engines to work through a wrapper service. The thesis covers the system architecture, role and policy management, and benchmarks for encryption and decryption.
